Rise ye up take your journey and pass over the river Arnon behold I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite king of Heshbon and his land begin to possess it and contend with him in battle

a brawling stream; the Arnon, a river east of the Jordan, also its territory -- Arnon.
behold

I have given

Sihon

thus, a mountaineer; an Emorite, one of the Canaanitish tribes -- Amorite.
king
melek  (meh'-lek)
a king -- king, royal.
of Heshbon
Cheshbown  (khesh-bone')
Cheshbon, a place East of the Jordan -- Heshbon.
and his land
'erets  (eh'-rets)
the earth (at large, or partitively a land) -- common, country, earth, field, ground, land, natins, way, + wilderness, world.
begin
chalal  (khaw-lal')
to bore, i.e. (by implication) to wound, to dissolve; figuratively, to profane (a person, place or thing), to break (one's word), to begin (as if by an opening wedge) instruments, pollute, (cast as) profane (self), prostitute, slay (slain), sorrow, stain, wound.
to possess
yarash  (yaw-rash')
to occupy (by driving out previous tenants, and possessing in their place); by implication, to seize, to rob, to inherit; also to expel, to impoverish, to ruin
it and contend
garah  (gaw-raw')
to grate, i.e. (figuratively) to anger -- contend, meddle, stir up, strive.
with him in battle
milchamah  (mil-khaw-maw')
a battle (i.e. the engagement); generally, war (i.e. warfare) -- battle, fight(-ing), war(-rior).
