Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day and let them not cease for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach with a very grievous blow Therefore thou shalt say 'amar (aw-mar') to say (used with great latitude) this word dabar (daw-baw') a word; by implication, a matter (as spoken of) or thing; adverbially, a cause unto them Let mine eyes `ayin (ah'-yin) an eye; by analogy, a fountain (as the eye of the landscape) run down yarad (yaw-rad') to descend; causatively, to bring down (in all the above applications) with tears dim`ah (dim-aw') weeping -- tears. night layil (lah'-yil) a twist (away of the light), i.e. night; figuratively, adversity -- (mid-)night (season). and day yowmam (yo-mawm') daily -- daily, (by, in the) day(-time). and let them not cease damah (daw-mam') to be dumb or silent; hence, to fail or perish; trans. to destroy -- cease, be cut down (off), destroy, be brought to silence, be undone, utterly. for the virgin bthuwlah (beth-oo-law') a virgin (from her privacy); sometimes (by continuation) a bride; also (figuratively) a city or state -- maid, virgin. daughter bath (bath) apple (of the eye), branch, company, daughter, first, old, owl, town, village. of my people `am (am) a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock -- folk, men, nation, people. is broken shabar (shaw-bar') to burst -- break (down, off, in pieces, up), broken(-hearted), bring to the birth, crush, destroy, hurt, quench, quite, tear with a great gadowl (gaw-dole') great (in any sense); hence, older; also insolent breach sheber (sheh'-ber) a fracture, figuratively, ruin; specifically, a solution (of a dream) -- affliction, breach, breaking, broken(-footed, -handed), bruise, crashing, destruction, hurt, interpretation, vexation. with a very m`od (meh-ode') vehemence, i.e. (with or without preposition) vehemently; by implication, wholly, speedily, etc. grievous chalah (khaw-law') to be rubbed or worn; hence (figuratively) to be weak, sick, afflicted; or (causatively) to grieve, make sick; also to stroke (in flattering), entreat blow makkah (mak-kaw') beaten, blow, plague, slaughter, smote, sore, stripe, stroke, wound(-ed).
