Thus saith the LORD of hosts The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together and all that took them captives held them fast they refused to let them go

the LORD
Yhovah (yeh-ho-vaw')
(the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God -- Jehovah, the Lord.
of hosts
tsaba' (tsaw-baw')
a mass of persons (or figuratively, things), especially reg. organized for war (an army); by implication, a campaign, literally or figuratively (specifically, hardship, worship)
The children
ben (bane)
a son (as a builder of the family name), in the widest sense (of literal and figurative relationship, including grandson, subject, nation, quality or condition, etc.
of Israel
Yisra'el (yis-raw-ale')
he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: --Israel.
and the children
ben (bane)

together

and all that took them captives
shabah (shaw-baw')
to transport into captivity -- (bring away, carry, carry away, lead, lead away, take) captive(-s), drive (take) away.
held them fast
chazaq (khaw-zak')
to fasten upon; hence, to seize, be strong (figuratively, courageous, causatively strengthen, cure, help, repair, fortify), obstinate; to bind, restrain, conquer
they refused
ma'en (maw-ane')
to refuse -- refuse, utterly.
to let them go
shalach (shaw-lakh')
to send away, for, or out (in a great variety of applications)
