
Gilead abode beyond Jordan and why did Dan remain in ships Asher continued on the sea shore and abode in his breaches Gilead Gil`ad (ghil-awd') Gilad, a region East of the Jordan; also the name of three Israelites -- Gilead, Gileadite. abode shakan (shaw-kan') to reside or permanently stay -- abide, continue, (cause to, make to) dwell(-er), have habitation, inhabit, lay, place, (cause to) remain, rest, set (up). beyond `eber (ay'-ber) a region across; but used only adverbially (with or without a preposition) on the opposite side (especially of the Jordan; ususally meaning the east) Jordan Yarden (yar-dane') a descender; Jarden, the principal river of Palestine -- Jordan. and why did Dan Dan (dawn) judge; Dan, one of the sons of Jacob; also the tribe descended from him, and its territory; likewise a place in Palestine colonized by them -- Dan. remain guwr (goor) to turn aside from the road (for a lodging or any other purpose), i.e. sojourn (as a guest); also to shrink, fear (as in a strange place); also to gather for hostility (as afraid) in ships 'oniyah (on-ee-yaw') a ship -- ship(-men).
